A mais nova criação do designer Rodrigo Calixto é Tijolo Fundamental que ele também chamou de Tejuelo. Esta entra na série repensando arquétipos pois busca retratar o importante papel da madeira na arquitetura colonial brasileira, que depois foi suprimida pelo tijolo enquanto elemento de modernização das construções.
O Tijolo é o arquétipo da Arquitetura: representa o elemento que dá forma, demarca e estabelece as fronteiras nos espaços planejados. Para Rodrigo Calixto representar um tijolo produzindo-o em madeira, ao invés do barro, é a oportunidade de retratar e colocar em discussão os pares que foram criados ao longo da nossa história.
Há ainda um outro aspecto provocativo na obra: a madeira que antes era parte fundamental nas construções passou a ser descartada, tomou outros caminhos, e retorna agora nesta forma de um tijolo emprestando a sua plasticidade na forma de um objeto cuja a função não é montar, construir, mas sim refletir.
